April 25, 2024 Rumshock Veterans Foundation Gala at Osiris Country Club, Walden, NY
On April 25, 2024 the Rumshock Veterans Foundation held its Third Annual Gala Cocktail Party at the Osiris Country Club in Walden, NY, from 6 to 9 p.m. when it honored USN retired Captain Robert J. “Pete” Petry, Orange and Rockland Utilities, and Orange County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Heather Bell.
Petry is the recipient of numerous personal awards for his leadership and impact, including the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), the Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), and the Navy Achievement Medal (two awards). Captain Petry is a native of Haverstraw, NY, enlisting in the navy’s nuclear power program upon graduation from high school in 1970. Orange & Rockland Utilities, which has hired dozens of veterans, will be the corporate honoree. As president and CEO of the Chamber, Bell has advocated for local businesses, helping them to access the resources needed to support veteran organizations throughout the Hudson Valley.
Emily Cole Young was the Mistress of Ceremonies for this event. She was a former Israel Defense Forces commander and is now a reporter for TV News 12 Hudson Valley.
